Cookware

All the equipment mentioned in the posts or in the cookbooks has been used by Cheri. She doesn’t endorse or suggest specific brands (unless only one brand exists), but she does recommend using the highest quality cookware you can afford. Here’s what Cheri says about her kitchen equipment:

I use a Vita-Mix for all my blending, juicing, and food processing needs, in both my house and my RV. It’s expensive but takes the place of dozens of other appliances. For quick baking, I have a Black & Decker Infrawave® oven that is amazing for small, quick jobs. The RV has a microwave/convection oven that takes up much less room than both a microwave and conventional ovens. I prefer gas ranges, and someday I’d love to own one of those GE Cafe ranges with the two ovens and five burners. Someday. Maybe if I win the lottery? :D

I love my Kitchen Craft by Americraft cookware. Made in the U.S.A., it lives up to every one of its manufacturer’s claims. It uses less heat, minimal moisture, and little or no fat for the most flavorful cooking. The Americraft company also makes Healthy Gourmet stainless, waterless cookware, and I have a set in my RV. It’s expensive, but not in the long run.

Finally, I couldn’t live without my pressure cookers. Made by Fagor and marketed either as Pressure Magic or Rapid Chef, I have three of the commercial-grade, stainless steel pots in 4, 6, and 8 liter sizes. The 6-Liter stays in my RV. If you can’t afford any other cookware, buy a quality pressure cooker. It’s a staple of HASTY TASTY MEALS.
